Instructions
Step 1
Heat the oil in a large saucepan and then add the onion, pepper, garlic, chilli powder, paprika, and cumin. Fry for 5-10 minutes until the onion has softened and become translucent.
Step 2
Add the mince to the pan, and continue to cook for a further 5 minutes until browned and evenly cooked. Make sure the heat is high enough for the meat to fry rather than stew.
Step 3
Add the beef stock, can of chopped tomatoes, tomato puree, sugar, and marjoram to the pan. Bring to the boil and simmer for 20 minutes with the lid on , stirring occasionally.
Step 4
Add the kidney beans to the pan, bring back to the boil, and simmee for a further 10 minutes uncovered.
Step 5
Season with salt and pepper, then let the mixture rest for 10 minutes so that the flavours can mingle (important step!)
