This is a lovely hearty winter warming recipe my mum taught me in South Africa. So simple yet delicious. I think it originates from Holland.

Instructions

Step 1
Use a large heavy based casserole dish. Heat the oil and add steak. Sear on both sides. Now add sliced onions and reduce heat to soften onions. Add salt and pepper and two tins soup. Then add the 2 tins of water and stir. Transfer casserole dish with lid to preheated 180 degree oven. Cook for 40 minutes check and stir. Reduce heat to 150 degrees and cook for further 2 hours. The meat should be falling apart, succulent and tender. Serve with white rice or mash and ladle on the gravy. Mmmm.
