Instructions

Step 1
In a large bowl, combine the turkey, mayonnaise, onion powder, garlic powder, salt, and pepper and mix until incorporated. Form into four patties, each about 4 inches in diameter. Brush one side of each patty with some of the yellow mustard.
Step 2
Heat the oil in a large cast-iron skillet over medium-high heat until almost smoking. Place the patties in a pan, mustard-side down, and lower the heat to medium. Cook, flipping once, until browned and cooked through, 6 to 8 minutes total; about 2 minutes before the burgers are done, top each with one slice of cheese and cover the pan so the cheese melts.
Step 3
Lightly toast the hamburger buns and spread some of the sauce on both sides of the bun. Place a patty and choice of toppings on each bottom bun and top with the bun top.
