Fig and Cardamom Oatmeal

Old fashioned oatmeal cooked with chopped apples, seasoned with cinnamon and vanilla and sweetened with honey. Topped with a homemade Greek yogurt, fresh figs and sprinkled with cardamom.

Instructions
Step 1
In a medium to small pot add the water and oats together. Stir over medium to low heat for a couple minutes or until it starts to thicken.
Step 2
Mix in the chopped apples, cinnamon, honey and vanilla. Let simmer until oats are soft and cooked thoroughly, stirring occasionally, as you don’t want the milk to scorch.
Step 3
When the oats are thick and the apples are soft scoop into your serving bowl and add the Greek yogurt to the center.
Step 4
Place the figs on top of the oats and Greek yogurt.
Step 5
Sprinkle with cardamom
