Instructions
Step 1
Make 3-4 slits across each leg. Crush ginger and garlic.
Step 2
Add crushed ginger and garlic, squeeze fresh lemon juice into the chicken. Rub onto the chicken, then leave until prepare tandoori chicken mixture.
Step 3
Whisk together yogurt, Kashmiri red chili powder, turmeric, garam masala, cumin powder, salt, dried fenugreek leaves , red food colour & oil to make the marinade. Apply evenly to the chicken pieces and let it marinate in the refrigerator for at least 5-6 hours or overnight.
Step 4
Smoke the marinated chicken for 4-5 minutes with live charcoal.
Step 5
Pre heat oven at 200 celsius.
Step 6
Remove the chicken pieces from the marinade and place it on a baking tray or a rack. Keep the baking tray in the middle part of oven and bake for 30-35 minutes first. Then broil it for 10 minutes if needed baste the chicken with melted butter.
Step 7
Sprinkle some chaat masala for extra flavour, and serve along raita, lemon wedges and onion rings
Step 8
For garnish, chopped coriander and squeeze lemon juice if needed
