Comeback Tomato Sauce

Preheat your oven to 350°F (180°C).
Combine the tomatoes (take out the seeds), onions, garlic, basil, and optional jalapeño in a baking pan.
Sprinkle your desired spices (a small amount of salt, black pepper, garlic powder, onion powder, smoked paprika, and Italian seasoning) over the vegetables, and stir the ingredients together.
Roast the vegetables in the oven for 20-25 minutes, or until they are tender and slightly caramelized.
Remove the vegetables from the oven and let them cool for a few minutes.
Transfer the roasted vegetables to a blender or food processor and blend until smooth.
Heat up some olive oil in a pan.
Stir in some chopped cilantro, if desired.
Drizzle the blended tomato mixture into the pan.
Season the mixture with salt, black pepper, garlic powder, onion powder, smoked paprika, and Italian seasoning to taste.
Add in some brown sugar.
Cook the sauce over medium heat until it is heated through.
Serve the sauce over your favorite pasta, or use it as a base for pizza or other dishes.
