1 lblean ground beef

1onion
medium, chopped

4 clovesgarlic
chopped

1green chile
chopped, seeded for less spice

2 x 15 ozcans of chickpeas
drained and rinsed well

1 x 28 ozcan Vegetarian Baked Beans

1 x 15 ozcan of diced tomatoes

1 cupwater

salt
to taste

black pepper
to taste

1 tsplime juice

1 tspliquid smoke

½ tspcumin seeds

1 Tbscanola oil

Instructions
Step 1
Step 1: Brown ground beef well and set aside, draining grease.
Step 2
Step 2: Heat canola oil over medium high heat and add the cumin seeds. Allow seeds to sizzle for a few seconds and become fragrant, but not burned. Then add onion, green chilies, and a pinch of salt and saute for a few minutes. Then add garlic and the spice mix. Fry until fragrant without burning about 1 minute. Then add the browned ground meat, diced tomato, chick peas, and water. Salt as needed. Cook for 10 minutes.
Step 3
Step 3: Add the Bush's Beans and the liquid smoke. Simmer for another 10 minutes.
Step 4
Step 4: Turn off the heat and add the lime juice. Serve hot with naan and sour cream if desired. Serves 6-8. Enjoy.
