Instructions

Small container - 1 tsp cumin seeds, 1 tsp coriander seeds, 4 Cardomen pods

Small container - 1/2 tsp tumeric, 2 tsp garam masala, 1/2 tsp salt, 1 tsp sweet paprika

1 cup basmati rice - rinse and drain 3 times

Add 1 cup water to basmati rice to medium high heat

When water bubbles turn to medium low and cook 15 min. When done let it steam covered for another 10 min

1 white onion finely chopped

2 green chili, deseed, finely chopped

2 garlic finely chopped

2 tomatoes diced

1 cup lentil rinse and drained

Saute pan medium heat - 1 tsp cumin seed, 1 tsp coriander seed, 4 Cardomen pods, toast 3 min

Crush spices in mortar and pestle

Remove Cardomen shell

Saute pan medium heat - 2 tbsp olive oil

Saute onions 2-3 min
Step 16
Add garlic and chili pepper and saute for 2 min

Add toasted spices, 1/2 tsp tumeric, 2 tsp garam masala, 1/2 tsp salt, 1 tsp sweet paprika - saute 1 min

Add tomatoes - saute 3-4 min
Step 19
Add red lentil, 400 mil coconut milk, 1 cup water
Step 20
Med high heat - Stir bring to boil
Step 21
Turn heat to medium, stir, cover 8-10 min
Step 22
Top with cilantro when serving
