Instructions

Step 1
Start by patting the salmon pieces dry with paper towels.

Cut the salmon into bite sized cubes.

Place the salmon bites into a bowl.

Season with salt, pepper, garlic powder, onion powder, paprika, gochugaru and olive oil. Set this aside.

In a large skillet, heat a drizzle of olive oil over medium-high heat.

Add the salmon pieces to the skillet, placing them in a single layer. Cook the salmon for about 2-3 minutes on each side, or until they are cooked through and have a nice sear on the outside. The exact cooking time may vary depending on the thickness of your salmon pieces.

Remove the salmon pieces from the skillet, leaving the residual oil. Leave them on a plate while you prepare the gochujang butter sauce.

To the same skillet, melt the butter over medium-high heat. Once the butter is sizzling, add the minced garlic. Sauté the garlic for about 1 minute, or until it becomes fragrant and slightly golden. Be careful not to let it burn.

Add the gochujang, honey, and vinegar to the garlic butter and heat it to a simmer. Stir continuously and cook until the mixture significantly reduces (3-4 minutes). You can check if the sauce has reduced by running a spatula across the skillet. It should leave a trail that remains visible for a few seconds. Turn off the heat.

Gently reintroduce your cooked salmon bites back into the skillet and coat them with the sauce.
