Step 1
Add oil to kadai and heat till vapours come out
Add sliced onions to the kadai and fry till golden brown
Remove the onions and soak out the excess oil on some tissue paper
Step 2
Mix curd, chili powder, turmeric powder, coriander powder and chicken masala in a bowl
In the same oil add all the whole spices (khade masale) - cumin, cardamom, black cardamom, clove, black pepper and bayleaf
Stir a bit and add the ginger garlic paste
Add the mixture of curd to the kadai Add some salt to the kadai and mix well
Crush the fried onions and add them
Step 3
Fry the mixture well and add the chicken to it
Add the cashew paste
Mix well and cook this for 3-4 mins covered with a lid on simmer, stirring occasionally Add hot water and mix well
Cover with lid and cook for 10-15 mins till chicken becomes tender
Garnish with coriander leaves
