Instructions

Step 1
1. In a bowl, mix yeast, sugar, and warm water. Let it sit for 5-10 minutes until it becomes frothy.

2. Add olive oil and salt to the yeast mixture, then gradually mix in the flour until a dough forms.

3. Knead the dough on a floured surface for about 5-7 minutes, or until it becomes smooth and elastic.

4. Place the dough in a greased bowl, cover it with a damp cloth, and let it rise in a warm place for about 1 hour or until it doubles in size.

5. Preheat the oven to 250°C. Place a baking tray upside down in the oven to preheat as well.
Step 6
6. Punch down the risen dough and divide it into 6 equal portions. Roll each portion into a small round ball.
Step 7
7. Dust the sides of the dough in flour. Roll out each ball into a flat circle, about 15cm in diameter.
Step 8
8. Carefully transfer the flattened dough onto the preheated baking tray in the oven.
Step 9
9. Bake for 6-8 minutes or until the bread puffs up and turns golden brown.
Step 10
10. Remove from the oven and let the Arabic bread cool slightly before serving.
