Crispy chilli beef fakeaway from IG
This crispy chilli beef is my takeaway favourite. I always get it without fail. This airfryer version is just as delicious, slightly healthier, high in protein and easy to make. Who wants it?
Recipe:
Sauce:
2 tbsp dark soy
4 tbsp black Chinese vinegar
2 tbsp sweet chilli sauce
3 tbsp ketchup
2-3 tbsp honey
250g rump steak
2tsp sesame oil
1 1/2 tbsp light soy
1 medium egg, beaten
150g cornflour
Salt and pepper
Vegetable oil spray
2tbsp vegetable oil
1 onion, sliced
1/2 pepper sliced
3/4 tbsp grated ginger
2 large cloves garlic, crushed
1 chilli, finely sliced
1 handful finely sliced coriander
Sesame seeds

Ingredients
2 servings
2 Tbspdark soy
4 Tbspblack Chinese vinegar
2 Tbspsweet chilli sauce
3 Tbspketchup
2 Tbsphoney
250grump steak
2 tspsesame oil
1 ½ Tbsplight soy
1egg
medium, beaten
150gcornflour
salt
pepper
vegetable oil spray
2 Tbspvegetable oil
1onion
sliced
0.5pepper
sliced
¾ Tbspginger
grated
2cloves garlic
large, crushed
1chilli
finely sliced
1 handfulcoriander
finely sliced
sesame seeds
Instructions
Step 1
1. Make the sauce with dark soy, vinegar, sweet chilli, ketchup, honey and mix. Set aside
Step 2
2. Slice the steak into thin strips, roughly 1/2cm. Place the steak strips into a bowl and add light soy, sesame oil, egg and mix. Add cornflour, season and combine until fully coated. The steak strips should separate nicely when fully coated.
Step 3
3. Spray oil into the air fryer, heat until 200c. Add beef in a single layer, you may have to do batches depending on the size of your air fryer. Spray the beef with more oil and cook for 10 minutes until crisp.
Step 4
4. Meanwhile, add a oil to a large pan over a medium/high heat and fry off the onion and peppers for 2-3 minutes until they have some colour. Lower the heat and add garlic, ginger, chilli and fry for another minute.
Step 5
5. Pour in the sauce, the crispy beef, coriander and combine. Finish with sesame seeds and enjoy.
