1.8kgbeef shank
or pork shoulder, cubed
60gHungarian sweet paprika
15ghot paprika

6garlic cloves

4bell peppers
chopped
4tomatoes

1.4 Lbeef broth
30gtomato paste
10gground caraway seeds
240 mLred wine
4bay leaves
2 tspfresh thyme

Instructions
Step 1
Sear the Meat (10 minutes): Brown the cubed beef/pork in batches over medium-high heat. Set aside.
Step 2
Sauté Aromatics (5 minutes): Sauté onions, garlic, and bell peppers until softened. Deglaze with red wine.
Step 3
Combine in Slow Cooker (5 minutes): Place browned meat, vegetables, tomatoes, tomato paste, paprika, caraway seeds, bay leaves, thyme, salt, and pepper into the slow cooker.
Step 4
Cook (6-8 hours): Pour in beef broth, stir, and cook on low for 6-8 hours, until the meat is tender.
Step 5
Finish (5 minutes): Stir in sour cream before serving, if desired.
