Fakeaway Crispy Chilli Chicken 🥡
So tasty and at only €1.29 per portion, this is a great budget friendly alternative to your fav takeaway!
Ingredients:
- 1kg chicken thighs (skin & bones removed)
- chicken marinade (1egg, 1tbsp soy sauce, 1tsp garlic granules, 1tsp pepper)
- Cornflour
- honey chilli sauce (2tbsp honey, 2tbsp soy sauce, 2tbsp sweet chilli, 2tbsp ketchup) - double if you want more sauce
- 2 onions
- mixed peppers
- 1tsp garlic purée
Method:
- Add all the marinade ingredients to the diced chicken and set aside to marinade for at least 10 mins.
- Combine the ingredients for the honey chilli sauce and set aside. Soften the veg, and set aside.
- Add the cornflour to a bowl and cover each piece of chicken in the flour until coated.
- Add the chicken to a pan of hot oil. Cooking until golden, and set aside. Make sure to not add too much chicken to the pan, instead cooking in batches.
- once off the chicken has been cooked, add all back into the pan again for a second fry so they become extra crispy.
- Remove any excess oil from the pan, then add the sauce, the softened veg & mix well, serve with noodles or rice & enjoy!
