Instructions
Step 1
Pour water into a pot and sprinkle the salt.
Bring to a boil over medium-high heat.
Step 2
Reduce the heat to a simmer. Add whole oats and stir to combine. Simmer for 3-5 minutes, stirring occasionally.
Step 3
Remove the saucepan from the heat. Cover and let rest for 5 minutes (this gives the oats time to absorb more water).
Step 4
Serve the oatmeal with toppings as desired.
