Instructions
Step 1
Get the egg mixture ready:
Whisk the eggs, milk, sugar, cinnamon, and vanilla extract in a mixing dish until thoroughly blended.
Step 2
To soak the bread:
Dip each slice into the egg mixture, making sure to coat both sides equally. In order to keep the bread from becoming soggy, let it soak for ten to fifteen seconds on each side.
Step 3
To make the French toast:
Melt the butter in a non-stick skillet or griddle over medium heat. Place the pieces of bread that have been soaked onto the pan once the butter has melted and is just beginning to bubble. Cook until golden brown and just beginning to crisp, 2 to 3 minutes per side.
Step 4
To serve:
Move the French toast onto a platter. For a taste explosion, sprinkle with powdered sugar, pour maple syrup over, then garnish with fresh berries.
