Easy hack to make Chicken Shawarma 🌯
I love a good Shawarma and nothing like a homemade one. It’s so tasty and I can customise it however I like it. The potatoes help us create that street style effect and it’s amazing if you have a party at home to impress your guest.
Recipe:
🌯 Marinate 1 kg chicken chicken thighs with salt, lemon juice, 1 tbsp olive oil and 1 whole chopped garlic.
🌯 Add spices 1 tbsp chilli powder, 1 tbsp chilli flakes, 1 tsp cumin powder, 1 tsp garlic powder, 1 tsp onion powder, 1 tsp paprika, 1 tsp oregano and ground black pepper. Followed by 2 tbsp tomato paste and some yogurt.
🌯 Preheat oven to 180. Place half cut potatoes on a tray and poke two skewers on it. Place the thighs by piercing the skewers as shown in the video. And bake at 180 for 35 mins and finish with grilling at 200 for 7-8mins. Chop into small pieces.
🧄 To make the garlicy sauce mix equal parts mayo and Greek yogurt. Add some chopped garlic, chopped corriander, lemon juice and some salt pepper to taste.
🌯 Serve hot with some pita breads, pickled carrot and beetroot and some lettuce.
