Better-Than-Takeout Sesame Tofu

5 steps
Prep:10minCook:10min
When I made this for my friend she said, "This is literally better than takeout," and immediately asked for the recipe. This sesame tofu is crispy, flavorful, and drool-worthy. One of the number one comments I hear about tofu is that people don't know how to cook it and that it never turns out right. This is the recipe for you if you want to fall in love with tofu.

Instructions

Step 1
In a medium bowl, mix the tofu cubes with cornstarch.
Step 2
Heat a pan to medium heat. Once heated, add the sesame oil and tofu. Panfry, flipping and stirring as necessary until all sides are golden brown.
Step 3
Whisk all the sauce ingredients in a bowl.
Step 4
Once the tofu is brown, turn the heat to low and pour the secret sauce into the pan. Stir and combine with the tofu until the sauce thickens, about 5 minutes.
Step 5
Serve the tofu with the broccoli and brown rice. Sprinkle on scallions and sesame seeds.
