Instructions

Step 1
Heat cooking oil in a skillet over medium-high heat. Add diced onion and green bell pepper , sautéing until softened.

Add the ground beef, breaking it up and browning it with the vegetables.

Season with salt, black pepper, tomato paste and minced garlic. Stir well to combine. Skip the salt if your broth already contains salt

Pour in the beef broth and simmer until the liquid reduces and thickens.

Spoon the beef mixture into the roll, top with the remaining shredded cheese, and serve.

Cheese sauce

Melt butter in a small saucepan over medium heat.

Whisk in flour and cook for 1 minute until lightly bubbling.

Slowly pour in milk while whisking constantly to prevent lumps. Cook for 2 to 3 minutes until slightly thickened.

Remove saucepan from heat. Add garlic powder, paprika, salt, and black pepper.

Stir in shredded cheddar cheese one handful at a time until completely melted and smooth. Don't have to use the entire cup of cheese keep mixing in the cheese until your are happy with the texture.

Pour directly over the hot ground beef mixture in the rolls.
