Korean Spicy Braised Tofu (Dubu Jorim)

Instructions

Step 1
Pat tofu dry and cut into thick bite sized slices.
Step 2
Finely dice onion, garlic, spring onion and ginger.
Step 3
In a small bowl or cup combine all the sauce ingredients.
Step 4
In a non-stick frypan heat 1-2 tbsp oil and fry tofu for a few minutes until golden on each side. Set tofu aside on plate and return pan to the stove on low heat. Add another tbsp of oil and fry your onion, garlic and ginger for 30 seconds or until fragrant. Pour in the sauce and add the spring onions. Add the tofu, mixing gently til all pieces are covered in sauce. Cook for a few mins until the sauce thickens a little and the onions turn a little jammy. Serve over hot rice!
