Tuna Tataki - 10 min dinner
5 steps
Prep:5minCook:5min
Though this recipe may look high effort - this might just be the simplest recipe in this book, taking less than 10 minutes to make. Tuna tataki is one of my all-time favorite dishes to order out, and until recently I had just assumed it'd be too hard to make at home. But with 2 easy steps, this is now a staple in our household!

Instructions
Step 1
Start by making the sauce. Mix all ingredients into a small bowl, then set aside.
Step 2
On a plate or tray, mix the sesame seeds. Place your ahi tuna steak(s) on the sesame seed, gently pressing down so that the seeds stick. Repeat on all sides of the steak until it is fully covered.
Step 3
Heat up olive oil and sesame oil on a skillet over medium-high heat. Add in your thinly chopped garlic clove, cooking until it becomes golden brown. Once golden, remove and set aside.
Step 4
On the same skillet, add your ahi tuna steak. Sear for 20 seconds on each side, then remove from the heat.
Step 5
Thinly slice the tuna steak, dividing it onto two plates. Drizzle the sauce on top, and season with the golden brown garlic bits, diced scallions, and sliced jalapeños.
