Instructions

Step 1
1. Preheat the oven to 200°C/425°F/Gas 7.
Step 2
2. Tip the flour, yeast and salt into a bowl and add the oil and 320ml water.
Step 3
3. Using your hands mix the ingredients together until there are no dry ingredients and you have a well-developed ball of dough.
Step 4
4. Knead the dough until smooth.
Step 5
5. Place your dough in an oiled bowl, cover with ding film and leave in a warm place until the dough has tripled in size.
Step 6
6. When risen, place dough onto a floured surface, knead the dough for a second time to knock out the air.
Step 7
7. Shape into a bloomer by flattening into a rectangle, fold both ends into the middle and roll into a tube (seam on the bottom).
Step 8
8. Place onto a baking tray lined with baking paper, cover and leave to prove for 1 hour at room temperature or until doubled in size.
Step 9
9. Lightly dust with flour, make 3/4 slashes with a sharp knife diagonally.
Step 10
10. Bake in the oven for approximately 30 minutes on the middle shelf.
Remove from the oven, turn it over and knock on the bottom, if it is a hollow sound it is ready. Allow to cool before slicing
