This is a very fast but flavorful tomato sauce that can be made in the time it takes to cook pasta.

Instructions
Step 1
Begin bringing a pot of salted water to a boil for the pasta. Add the pasta when it’s boiling.
Step 2
Meanwhile, heat the olive oil in a sauce pan over medium eat. Then crush or mince the garlic cloves and add them to the oil.
Step 3
After about a minute add the tomato paste and stir with the oil. Cook for about 2-3 minutes. You will likely need to add another tablespoon of olive oil so it doesn’t burn.
Step 4
Add the cherry tomatoes, salt, and red pepper flakes (optional). After a few minutes crush the tomatoes with a fork and stir everything together. Add more salt if necessary. Let the tomatoes stew until the pasta is done cooking.
Step 5
Just before the pasta is done cooking add a small handful of chopped basil and about a quarter cup of pasta water. Stir together then mix in the cheese. Add the pasta when it’s done and enjoy!
