I shared so many Korean pancake (Jeon) recipes over the years. Today, I want to add another delicious Jeon recipe using Korean radish. It is called “무전 (MuJeon) in Korean. I tried to make this jeon as simple as possible to fully enjoy the natural flavor of the Korean radish. You do not need any dipping sauce! 🙂

Instructions
Step 1
Prepare about ½ lb worth of Korean radish and 1 Tbsp worth of hot pepper. If you don’t want hot pepper, you can replace it with 2 Tbsp worth of green onion as well.
Step 2
Chop the radish into 2 inch long thin strips.
Step 3
Season the radish with ¼ tsp salt and let it set for about 10 minutes.
Step 4
Chop the hot pepper into tiny pieces.
Step 5
After 10 minutes, the radish will get nicely seasoned. Now, add ½ cup of Korean frying mix (or pancake mix), ⅛ tsp of salt, and about 2 Tbsp of water to the radish.
Step 6
Mix everything together. Since we got a little bit of water from the salted radish, we do not need as much water to add to it this time.
Step 7
Finally, add the chopped hot pepper and mix one more time. It is too simple and easy to make, isn’t it ? 😉
Step 8
Take out a spoonful of the radish mixture. Then, put it in a heated and generously oiled pan. Spread it out to get a nice circular shape. Fry them for about 5 minutes on medium-high.
Step 9
After 5 minutes, flip them over and fry for another 5 minutes to make them beautifully golden brown. If needed, add some more cooking oil here and there to make it extra crispy jeon.
