Biriyani is named for the process, if meat is cooked separately with spices and masalas and then aromatic rice is cooked and added over the cooked meat and put on DUM for sometime and what we get is Biriyani.

Add oil and ghee
Step 2
Add chopped onions and fry until brown

Add ginger garlic paste and chilly paste and cook until raw smell is gone

Add chopped tomatoes and let it cook until mashed

Add turmeric powder and Biriyani masala and cook until oil separates

Add chicken pieces and add salt as per taste and sauté until the masala is completely coated

Add chopped mint and coriander leaves

Add coconut milk after chicken cooked for 5 minute

In a separate vessel add 1 teaspoon of ghee and let it heat and add cloves and cardamom

Add hot water double the quantity of rice

Add salt and rice and let the rice cook upto a boil
Step 12
Remove the rice with strainer and add it over cocker chicken
Step 13
Cover the lid and simmer it for 15 minutes and your Biriyani is ready
