This vegan shawarma recipe is super easy and perfect if you don't eat meat or are looking for an easier, healthier, lighter version that tastes just as good as the ones from your local Arabic restaurant! It's completely meatless so there's no fuss about whether the meat you're using is Halal or not. Shawarmas are perfect for lunch, dinner or a filling midday snack.

Ingredients
2 servings

1 blockfirm tofu

1 Tbsplemon juice
fresh or bottled

1 ½ Tbspcornstarch

½ tspturmeric

2 tsppaprika

1 tspgaram masala

1 tspground ginger

¾ tspground coriander

¼ tspground cardamon

¾ tspsalt

½ tspminced garlic

⅓ tspblack pepper
For the shawarma sandwiches
Instructions
Step 1
Cut tofu into even bite-sized cubes.
Step 2
Add them into a small bowl and toss in lemon juice, cornstarch, spices, salt, pepper and garlic.
Step 3
Air fry at 390F degrees for 6 minutes or until golden and crispy.
Step 4
Add chopped cabbage, onion and cilantro to pita and top with tofu shawarma. Drizzle with shawarma white sauce.
