Ingredients
4 servings
1 packagetextured vegetable protein
veggie ground round
½ cupbrown sugar
lightly packed
¼ cuplight soy sauce
1 tablespoonolive oil
1 tablespoonsesame oil
1onion
large, thinly sliced
3cloves garlic
minced
2 tablespoonsfresh ginger
grated
½ teaspoondried red chili flakes
¼ teaspoonground black pepper
1 teaspoonsesame seeds
4 cupsbasmati rice
cooked
¼ cupgreen onions
thinly sliced
Instructions
Step 1
In a skillet, over medium heat, sauté the onions in olive oil until slightly caramelized; add the garlic and veggie round ground and continue to sauté for another 5 minutes.
Step 2
Add the soy sauce, sesame oil, ginger, dried red chili flakes, ground black pepper, and brown sugar. Stir well into the veggie ground round mixture.
Step 3
Continue to sauté until all of the liquid is absorbed – about 4-5 minutes.
Step 4
Add in the sesame seeds and stir to incorporate.
Step 5
Serve over cooked rice and top with sliced green onions.
