Pepper Steak Recipe

Instructions

Step 1
Cut onion, green and red bell peppers into bite size pieces. Then mince garlic.
Step 2
Boil water for cooking Jasmine or Basmati rice (follow directions for rice). Once water is boiled and after the flank steak has marinated for 30 minutes start cooking the rice so it will finish near the same time as the pepper steak.

Marinade

Step 3
Slice flank steak on the bias super thin and place in bowl for marinade.
Step 4
Mix together marinade ingredients: olive oil, honey, chicken seasoning, black pepper, soy sauce, ginger, and corn starch and then pour over flank steak and mix together w/hands. Let sit at room temp for 30 minutes.

Slurry

Step 5
Mix together slurry ingredients: water, corn starch, soy sauce, black pepper, ginger, and honey. Set aside until cooking vegetables.

Stir Frying

Step 6
Place wok on high heat, add 2 TB olive oil per batch of flank steak. When oil starts to lightly smoke place steak in batches, spread out in pan and cook each side until barely pink shows at all. Going for a sear and carmelization. Don't overcook.
Step 7
Transfer cooked steak to a bowl to stop cooking. Repeat this process till all steak is cooked.
Step 8
Add in 2 TB olive oil to wok and add Stir Fry ingredients starting with frying the garlic and ginger. Maybe 30 seconds, don't burn the garlic. As soon as you can smell the garlic it is done.
Step 9
Add in the onions and peppers and cook to your preferred crunch level. Usually around 4 minutes or less. Don't overcook! Should be a bit crunchy.
Step 10
Add slurry and stir until thickened.
Step 11
Add cooked steak and stir to combine.
Step 12
Remove wok from heat and serve with rice.
