Rice Paper Dumplings

The filling was sooooo tasty. I used smoked tofu. The rice paper was easier to use than I thought and they turned out really well and super tasty

This was fun to make. The hardest part was actually eating it bc they're a bit sticky and oily and they fall apart when you bite into them. Like others i added more spices/seasoning, especially salt. I fried them one at a time in about 1/8 cup very hot veg oil. For both folding and frying, place the wraps face down and that will prevent them from falling apart. It took a lot less time to make than I expected.

These are fiddly to make but once you've done a few it gets easier. Make sure not to over dip the rice paper and to use two per wrap. This filling was delicious although I prefer using meat over tofu but it made a nice change.

Just ripped apart when frying (ended up super oily too) so I wouldn't bother, also took way longer than what it said on recipe

Wasn’t a bad dish but we struggled with frying it. I don’t know if it was the rice paper we used, but it didn’t turn golden/brown and was more white. After reading these comments, I realized I should’ve air fried it. It seemed a lot like a spring roll and I would’ve honestly preferred those instead.

Needed to be doctored with spice. Didn't stay crispy even in an air frier.

Way good! If you have never used rice paper before, allow extra time because it can be challenging to get the hang of. I cooked these in the air fryer and served with a side of miso soup. I would swap the tofu for extra firm and saute it first with some soy sauce (I used coconut aminos), then add the veggies according to the instructions. I followed the recipe this go around, and it still came out delicious. Kid approved!

As others have said, this recipe works best in the air fryer or a hot convection oven. I tried just about everything to get them not to fall apart in a pan but couldn't figure it out. I threw the last few in the oven and they came out okay. I'm not sure I'd make it again though.

the filling was good but i did not like the rice paper part. would be better simply as a regular stir fry.

I screwed up the frying part, but they were still good. Will have to give this recipe another try.

Took like 2 hours and the rice paper stuck to the pan and broke.

Very good, but they fall apart. Next time going to try draining the water from the tofu, using less oil for frying, never let them touch each other, only half recipe and fry as you make them.

I’ve yet to have a positive experience with rice paper. Mine does not brown or really get crispy. The filling was bland and nothing to really be excited about….

It’s a super easy and quick recipe. The filling was delicious. I decided to do them in the air fryer and they came out great.

Definitely a tastey dish, I swapped the tofu for chicken (all I had at the time) and cabbage for spinach. Bit difficult to fry but all worth it

Added kimchi sauce to it and added a Cajun chicken spin to the filling. Chefs kiss. Kids love it and don’t even know that it has so many vegetables! (Buy two packs of rice paper and only use at most a half of cabbage)

Not the easiest dish I’ve ever made, but if I can hide mushrooms in there and my adult children don’t know it and they still loved it! That’s a win in my book!

I used chicken as a substitute for the tofu and it came out really good. I also was almost able to use one dish but I needed a bigger pan for the filling towards the end haha. Will for sure make again.

I loved these. i changed the cabbage though because i didn’t have any but other than that, absolutely amazing

Filling is delicious, very time consuming process though in a small kitchen. The rolls came out a bit noodly even after cooking for a long time. I might try making them with only one paper and put them in the air fryer!
