Instructions

Step 1
Lightly toast the oats, hemp seed (if using) and almonds in a dry medium saucepan over a low heat for 2–3 minutes. Pick out the almonds and save them to garnish.
Step 2
Add the nut milk, blackberries, most of the figs, almond butter and salt. Then cook, stirring, for 10 minutes, adding a little more milk if it thickens too much.
Step 3
Slice the toasted almonds. Spoon the porridge into two bowls and top with the remaining figs and the toasted sliced almonds, and drizzle with the maple syrup or honey.

Variation

Step 4
Try using different fruits such as passionfruit, frozen cherries or mixed summer berries.
