Cantonese Style Minced Beef Over Rice w/ Egg 窩蛋免治牛肉飯 🍚🍳 This is a super comforting meat sauce that goes well with rice or spaghetti! I remember I grew up eating this at a mall every time I watched my friend ice skate haha. 🥹⛸️ You HAVE to have it with an egg, don’t yuck my yum 🥱 Pantry essentials from 🥹 You can get everything you need to your door‼️ Click the link in my bio to order a kit to your door today 😎🚪 Or at 💌 Recipe adapted from Kit Mak on Youtube ☺️ Ingredients: + 1 onion (minced) + 1/2 large carrot (minced) + 4-5 cloves garlic + 1 lb ground beef Marinade: + 1.5T soy sauce + 1t sugar + 1t cornstarch Sauce: + 2-3T tomato paste + 5-6T ketchup + 2T soy sauce + 3-4 bay leaves + 3 cups chicken broth (or 3 cups water w/ 2-3t chicken bouillon powder) + 3-4t sugar (or to taste) + salt to taste (if needed) Steps: 1. Marinate ground beef in soy sauce, sugar, and cornstarch. Set aside. 2. Chop onion, carrots, and garlic. Set aside. 3. In a medium/large pan over medium heat, add oil. Once hot, saute onions n garlic til slightly browned/translucent, then add carrots and saute til slightly softened. 4. Add marinated meat and saute for a few min, along with the ketchup, soy sauce, and tomato paste. Saute til everything is mixed well for a minute or two. 5. Add chicken broth (or water w/ chicken bouillon) Bring to a boil, then simmer on low with the lid on for 45 min. 6. After 45 min, thicken/reduce over high heat and add salt and sugar if needed. You can add cornstarch slurry to help thicken if needed. 7. Pan fry a sunny side up egg for each serving. Serve with rice (or spaghetti) and enjoy!

Instructions

Step 1
1. Marinate ground beef in soy sauce, sugar, and cornstarch. Set aside.
