Air Fryer Chicken Tikka

Chicken Tikka is one of those dishes that is packed with flavor. It starts with chicken marinated in yogurt along with lemon juice and aromatic spices, then air fried to perfection. Served with some turmeric rice, this is a dish you can make for yourself or a large group!
For best results, let chicken marinate overnight and I always use a rice cooker to make the perfect rice.

Ingredients

1.5 lbschicken drumsticks
butterflied

1 Tbspolive oil

1 Tbspgarlic powder

1 Tbsppaprika powder

½ Tbspground coriander

1 Tbspcumin

1 Tbspgaram masala

½ Tbspchili powder

1 tspcayenne pepper

1 tspsalt

½ cupyogurt

1 Tbspfresh lemon juice

Instructions
Step 1
In a large bowl, add your chicken along with all your spices.










Step 2
Then add in your yogurt and lemon juice. Mix and massage all the chicken so every piece is evenly coated. Marinate for at least 1 hour or overnight.


Step 3
In a rice cooker, add your rice, water, ginger powder and turmeric powder. Cooking times will be based on your rice cooker settings. Mine took 35 minutes.




Step 4
Preheat air fryer to 375 degrees.

Step 5
Remove your chicken from the marinade and line in a single row on your air fryer tray/basket.
Step 6
Air fry for 20-25 minutes, flipping halfway through. Chicken should be cooked until it reaches a minimum temperature of 165 degrees.
Step 7
When ready to serve, place rice on a large plate/platter. Then add your chicken on top. Garnish with fresh coriander and enjoy!
