Step 1
Cut the dried chillies into 1/2 and put in a bowl of hot water. Leave to soak until soft and fully rehydrated. Remove chilli seeds as much as possible.
Step 2
Grind dried chillies, garlic, shallots and belacan with some water.
Step 3
Put oil in the wok and fry the chilli paste under low heat for 5 minutes. Add salt.
