My version of the moderately spicy prawn biryani made easily in a rice cooker

Instructions

Step 1
Marinade the prawns with yogurt and all the spices (turmeric, chilli, Garam masala, fish curry powder) marinade for 1/2 hour, ginger and garlic paste, salt to taste

Step 2
Add to a hot pan and then add onions till they caramelised then add tomatoes and cook till soft add the prawns in and cook half way through adjust salt if required add less than half water
Step 3
Wash and soak basmati rice for 30 minutes
Step 4
Place the prawns in rice cooker and add the soaked rice in. Add 5 cups of water, mix gently till well combined
