Instructions
Step 1

In a bowl, combine the gochujang, soy sauce, water, brown sugar, sesame oil, and minced garlic and mix well. Set aside.

Step 2

Cut chicken into bite-size pieces and place in a bowl. Add 5 tablespoons of the gochujang mixture into the bowl of chicken and mix well ensuring that chicken is coated on all sides. Set aside to marinate for 10-15 minutes.

Step 3

Roast the sesame seeds on a non-stick frying pan at medium heat for 2-3 minutes and set aside. I used a mix of white and black sesame seeds.

Step 4

Heat the canola (rapeseed) oil on a large pan over medium heat. Add in the marinated chicken and cook for about 5 minutes, stir-frying the chicken pieces once in a while to cook all sides of the chicken pieces.

Step 5

Increase the heat to high and add in the rest of the sauce. Stir-fry for about 3-5 more minutes until the sauce is thicker and the chicken is cooked thoroughly. The sauce will slightly darken and become a sticky glaze. Be careful not to burn it. Remove from heat.
Step 6

Plate on bowls over steamed white rice and top with the roasted sesame seeds and green onions. Enjoy!
