Instructions
Step 1
If desired, brown brisket in a large skillet. This step is optional. You may also optionally, you may make the following marinade into a and marinate for up to 2 days.
Step 2
Meanwhile, whisk together pomegranate molasses (this is readily available on Amazon) ¼ cup olive oil, minced garlic cloves, cinnamon, salt, and cayenne pepper.
Step 3
Thinly slice 2 sweet onions. Place onions in the bottom of a slow cooker. Top with brisket and marinade.
Step 4
Cook on low for 6 - 8 hours.
Step 5
The following few steps are all optional: Remove brisket from slow cooker and place in oven-ssfe pan. Pour liquid and onions over brisket.
Step 6
Place pan in oven and broil as desired. Watch carefully as it can catch quickly.
Step 7
If you need to wait to serve, cover tightly with foil and keep in a 200 degree over until ready to serve
Step 8
Slice thinly against the grain. Serve garnished with pomegranate seeds.
