A creamy, spicy Bengali steamed paneer made with coconut, green chillies, mustard and poppy seeds. Lightly fry paneer, blend a paste, then steam until aromatic.

Instructions

Step 1
Soak the poppy seeds, yellow mustard seeds, and black mustard seeds in warm water for about 10 minutes.
Step 2
Heat a little mustard oil in a pan and lightly stir fry the paneer cubes until slightly golden from the edges. Keep aside.
Step 3
In a blender, add grated coconut, green chillies, cashews, soaked seeds, yoghurt, turmeric powder, and salt. Blend everything into a smooth creamy paste.
Step 4
Transfer the paste into a lunchbox-style or any heat-safe container. Add the stir-fried paneer and top with a few sliced green chillies. Drizzle a little mustard oil on top for extra flavour.
Step 5
Close the container with a lid and steam it for 10–15 minutes until set and aromatic.
Step 6
Serve hot with rice and enjoy!
