Ingredients

2 tablespoonsbeef fat
2 table spo onscooking oil
2pandan leaves
4shallots
3garlic cloves
1 inchginger
1 stickcinnamon
2star anise
4 podscardamom
2 stalkscloves
1 stalklemon
1 sticklemongrass
4 ½ cupwater
½ cupevaporated milk
3 cupsrice
3 tablespoonstomato puree
can be replaced with tomato soup, if preferred Just need to use more of it
½ cupraisins
salt
to taste
1 tablespoonsugar
Instructions
Step 1
Wash 3 cups of rice
Step 2
In different pot, heat cooking oil and beef fat (minyak sapi).
Step 3
Stir fry pandan leaves with thinly sliced shallots, garlic and ginger. Stir till yellow and produce smell.
Step 4
Put 4 friends spice (star anise, clove, cinnamon and cardamom) and crushed lemongrass
Step 5
Put the washed rice grains and fry for 1-2 minites.
Step 6
Pour water and milk
Add tomato puree, raisins and a little sugar. Salt to taste
Step 7
Pour all in the rice cooker and leave it to cook.
Step 8
If you use basmathi rice, pleqde refer to the packaging about the water:rice ratio. Usually 1.5:1.
