Instructions

Step 1
To make the dipping sauce: In a small bowl, combine the sour cream, pickles, lemon juice, and mustard powder.

To make the fish sticks: In a medium bowl, combine the breadcrumbs and flour.

In another medium bowl, beat the egg with a splash of water.

Designate one hand as your “wet hand” (for the egg) and one as your "dry hand" (for the breadcrumbs).

Using your wet hand, pick up a fish strip, drop it into the egg bowl, and stir it around to coat.

Let any excess egg drip off, then drop it onto the breadcrumb mixture.

Using your dry hand, sprinkle breading on the top and sides until the fish is well coated.

Transfer to a clean plate and repeat to bread

Cook until golden brown and cooked all the way through, 2 to 4 minutes per side (depending on the thickness of the fish).

Season the fish with salt and pepper to taste and squeeze a lemon half over the fish.

Slice the other half lemon into wedges and serve with the warm fish and dipping sauce on the side.
