Vegan Double Black Bean Burger

A black bean burger with your favorite vegan cheese sandwiched in between two patties for the perfect texture! This vegan burger surprised me because it tasted just like a real burger.

Ingredients
1 servings
1can of black beans
drained
¼ cuppanko bread crumbs
½ tspsea salt
½ tspblack pepper
1 tspmushroom umami seasoning mix
or your favorite spices
1 ½ Tbspaquafaba
or any egg replacer
1 tspcornstarch
optional
1 partvegan mayo
1 partketchup
1 partmustard
½ tsponion powder
½ tspgarlic powder
1 tspsweet pickle relish
white vinegar
vegan brioche bun
Toasted
pickled onions
2 slicestomato
0.5avocado
thinly sliced
2 leavesromaine lettuce
Instructions
Step 1
Cook the black beans for about 10 minutes in a pan and drain the excess liquid. (You can also bake them in the oven for 15 minutes)
Step 2
Add cooked black beans and bread crumbs to a food processor and pulse a few times until lightly combined.
Step 3
Pour the bean mixture into a bowl and add black pepper, sea salt, umami seasoning blend, cornstarch & aquafaba and mix it together. Note: Feel free to add any other spices you like!
Step 4
To cook, set a pan over high heat. Lay down a bit of avocado oil or your favorite high heat oil. Once hot, place the ball on the pan and a piece of parchment paper over top. Smash down with a spatula. Cook for 3 minutes then flip over & cook the other side for 3 more minutes. Add your cheese of choice to one patty and place the other one on top to let melt for 1-2 minutes.
Step 5

Build the burger with a toasted bun, burger sauce, the patties, avocado, pickled onions, tomato, lettuce, and more sauce on top.
