Korean Stir-Fried Anchovies

Stir-fried anchovy is a popular Korean side dish that has a sweet and savouriness taste to it! Perfect with a side of rice, or even, make it into rice balls! You can keep the stir-fried anchovies stored for about a week in the fridge. Recipe for the anchovy rice balls is coming soon!

Instructions

Step 1
Begin by chopping up 10 almonds.

On medium heat, toast them for 1 minute. Set aside.
Step 3
On the same pan, toss in 100g of anchovies. Toast them for 1 minute as well and then set aside. Make sure to not burn them!

Chop fresh chili and mince your garlic. On medium heat, add in 3 Tbsp of oil and start frying your chili and garlic.

Once it's golden, add in your anchovies. Quickly add 1.5 Tbsp of mayo and mix.

Then add in 1.5 Tbsp soy sauce, 2 Tbsp of mirim and 1 Tbsp of sugar. Mix well.

Turn off heat and add in your toasted almonds.

Drizzle 2 Tbsp of oligo syrup to finish off. Mix thoroughly.

To top off, sprinkle sesame seeds.

Enjoy with rice or make them into rice balls!
