Step 1
Season 500g of minced beef with salt and pepper. Divide it into 8 equal portions, shaping each into meatball-like shapes.

To prepare your toppings, shred the lettuce, and slice the tomato and red onion to your liking.

Preheat your pan over a medium to high heat. Then pour half a tablespoon of your preferred cooking oil to grease it.

Place the meatballs onto a hard surface like a chopping board. Then, press firmly on a plate or your preferred tool to create thin patties. Place a single patty in the pan, or add two to create a double patty burger. Cook one side of your patties for about 2 minutes. Before flipping them over, add a knob of butter to the center of the uncooked side to make the patties juicier. Then, flip them over and cook for another 2 minutes.

To transform your plain patties into cheeseburgers, place a slice of cheese on each patty 15 seconds before removing them from the pan.

Open the burger buns and gently toast them in the pan.

To assemble your Smash Burgers, spread some mayonnaise and ketchup on your toasted buns. Add a slice of lettuce, a cooked patty or two, a slice of tomato, a slice of onion, and then crown it with the top of the burger bun. Enjoy!
