Instructions
Step 1
Heat oil in pan. Pour mustard seeds, and heat until they start popping.
Step 2
Add red chillies, curry leaves, asafoetida, crushed garlic and cook for couple seconds while stirring.
Step 3
Add tumeric, lentils, tomatoes, black pepper corns, green chilli, tamarind pulp and salt.
Step 4
Mix and add 1 litre of water. Cook on low heat until lentils are soft.
