Ingredients
4 servings
4skinless boneless chicken breasts
2 teaspoonsonion powder
2 teaspoonsgarlic powder
2 teaspoonssea salt
2 teaspoonsground
freshly
2 teaspoonschili powder
2 teaspoonsground cumin
1onion
1red bell pepper
1green bell pepper
1 cupsalsa
avocado
1 cupsour cream
⅓ cuplettuce
shredded
1can black beans
8taco shells
soft
0.5Mexican cheese
grated
Instructions
Step 1
Place the chicken in a 6-quart slow cooker and season with the onion powder, garlic powder, salt, pepper, chili powder, and cumin.
Step 2
Slice the onion and core, seed, and slice the bell peppers.
Step 3
Lay both the onion and pepper slices over the chicken.
Step 4
Pour the salsa over the chicken and vegetables.
Step 5
Cook on low for 7 to 8 hours, or on high for 2 to 3 hours.
Step 6
When done, remove the chicken from the slow cooker, let cool slightly, and shred with two forks before serving.
Step 7
Serve with taco shells, warmed black beans, cheese, sour cream, avocado, and shredded lettuce.
