Ingredients
4 servings

1 table spoonsoil

onion
small, diced

3cloves of garlic
minced

1 tablespoonblack pepper

1 tea spoonwhite pepper

1 tea spooncoriander seeds

1 tea spoontumeric powder
optional

2chicken breasts
or a whole chicken cut into 8 pieces

bay leaf

1 tea spoonsalt

1 table spooncorn starch
or wheat flower

1lemon

cilantro
chopped, for garnish
Instructions
Step 1
Brown the onion in a stock pot with half a table spoon of oil. Then add in the minced garlic and stir a bit.



Step 2
Add in the spices and mix for a minute until aromatic.




Step 3
Add in the chicken and brown on all sides for 5 minutes. Then add in the bay leaf and water until the chicken is submerged. Salt to taste and boil, then let simmer for 20 mins.

Step 4
Once the chicken is fully cooked (Optional: remove it from the pot and save it for other dishes) dissolve the starch in a bit of warm water then add it to the broth. Mix well until it disappears. Squeeze in juice of half a lemon (Optional: Add in the squeezed half).

Step 5
Add more black pepper to taste and serve in small bowels before meals with lemon cutlets. Garnish with cilantro.
