Step 1
On medium high heat, in a dutch oven or similar pan brown the sausage and bacon. Add the onion and saute for two to three minutes. Use the moisture to scrape up the brown bits on the bottom of the pan. Add the canned tomatoes, seasonings and water. Combine ingredients together. Add the pork shoulder and black beans. Make sure the ingredients are covered by the liquid. Cook on low for 2.5 hours.
